Notorious B.I.G. x Kanye West 'Suicidal Thoughts (White Lotus Runaway Mashup)'

So apparently this remix has been out for a few months now, but I am just getting hip to it, and I know that some of ya'll may be too so it's all right. I was just jamming along to whoever was playing some Biggie not too long ago outside my dorm, and I decided to listen to some as well on my laptop and I somehow came across this White Lotus mashup/remix of Notorious B.I.G.'s 'Suicidal Thoughts' which blends the chorus and the beat of Ye's 'Runaway.' There's just something about that beat which makes any song or verse just that much more sentimental and the song like a billion times better. I'm not really a fan of the original song because I thought Yeezy could have done more with the verses, and the first version of the song I actually heard was that by the one and only Carlos St. John (listen here), and I just fell in love with that version. However, the powerful reflections of B.I.G.'s 'Suicidal Thoughts' mashed up with the 'Runaway' beat are just incredible. Shoutouts to DJ White Lotus and the crew for putting this together, it's pure genius.

Kanye West & Jay-Z 'Otis (feat. Otis Redding)'

If you don't know, the man Kanye West aka Yeezy and the legend Jay-Z have/are teaming up to create a collab album named "Watch The Throne" set to release digitally on August 1st, and in stores on August 5th. One song off the album (which after they released the tracklisting is a bonus track) 'H.A.M.' has received mixed reviews, I on the other hand love that song forget all that illuminati talk and just take it as it is which is music, and now another leak off of the album has arrived. This one entitled 'Otis' which samples the late Otis Redding, and both Yeezy and Hov go off on the track and that oldies kind of vibe that the Otis Redding sample gives off helps to create something you can't stop listening to. I'm deff excited for this collaboration and I'm really anxious to hear what kind of stuff Kanye & Jay-Z bring to the album and who they invite for a feature as well. Be on the lookout for "Watch the Throne" early August.

Kanye West 'Monster (Official Music Video)(Feat. Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj & Bon Iver)'

So if you remember I posted the video for Yeezy's song 'Monster' and I guess apparently that wasn't the official video, it kept being taken down and all this on YouTube, but guess what? The real and OFFICIAL music video for Kanye's song 'Monster' has been released to the public and it's crazy how different the actual video is. Lol, but seriously what was the point of this? The "new" and "official" video is the same one I posted a while ago except it has slightly better quality for this one and they added in that like 30 second singing part by Bon Iver (I think). I mean sure I didn't actually watch the new video to fully check out the differences between the two versions, but the parts that I did see were similar. I'm not really a fan of this song, some people think it's illuminati related or whatevs, so call it what you want.

Kanye West & KiD CuDi 'Gorgeous (SXSW Surprise Show)'

Back to the music you all love. So Kanye West has been rumored to be performing at the SXSW concert festival in Austin this past Saturday, March 19, and among the different songs he performed was the song 'Gorgeous' featuring G.O.O.D. Music labelmate KiD CuDi. The song is off of Yeezy's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album released November of 2010, and I've heard the song maybe once before and just listening to it again makes me love Kanye West and his music. The original features Raekwon along with CuDi, and it's just an all around great track that displays the emotion he's felt from the critics, and he even references the writers/creators of South Park in the song. CuDi lends his talents for the hook of the song along with the written thoughts of Kanye over the melodic beat which creates something special called 'Gorgeous.' The sound quality of the song is not as great, but if I find a better version, I'll deff post it up for you all. In the meantime check out Kanye West & KiD CuDi's performance of 'Gorgeous' at the SXSW Vevo Power Plant Surprise Show.

Kanye West 'All of the Lights (Official Video) (Feat. Rihanna & KiD CuDi)'

So finally a visual has been dropped for Kanye's song 'All of the Lights' which is off of his recent album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" and as you can imagine it does have much lights related visuals. This version, the final album version features his labelmate KiD CuDi and Rihanna, and if you're wondering Drake's verse did get cut and was not added to the album version. Me personally, I happen to like the extened/remix version of the song that has not only Cudders and RiRi, but Elton John (My fave), The Dream, Fergie, John Legend, Ryan Leslie, Tony Williams, Charlie Wilson, Elly Jackson, and Alicia Keys which I like to refer to this remix featuring the most All Star cast for any song. The video though was interesting, not really what I expected from listening to the song, and then having your own version of a video in your head. The intro apparently is paying homage to another song (?) 'Enter the Void' with shots of a little girl walking alone on the streets of New York (I think), then the song starts up. The video was done by legendary music video director Hype Williams, and the visuals for the text are crazy with many different bright colors while Ye is doing his verse with other shots of what he's describing in his verse. All in all it's an alright video, not what I was expecting, but what are the odds of it being exactly what I'd envisioned?

Passion Pit/Lupe Fiasco/Kanye West/Wale/Eminem 'Sleepyhead (Mashup)'

I know this is old, but I just found it today because I've just fallen in love with Passion Pit like two days ago. They're like a Pop/Electronica/AWESOMENESS band/group hailing out of Mass and I think I heard of them, but never went out of my way to check them out, but I had to recently and that was one of the best decisions I've made in a few days lol. The first song I checked out by them was 'Sleepyhead' and it's a dope song, and the mixes for it are incredible. This one mix (the one I'm posting now) is a mashup of 'Sleepyhead' along with the lyrical stylings of Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Wale and Eminem. The blend of 'Sleepyhead' along with the Wale, Em, Lupe, and Kanye fit so perfectly especially Lupe's verse. *Note: These are all verses from their other songs not specifically for this one*

Kanye West feat. Rick Ross, Jay-Z & Nicki Minaj 'Monster (Official Video)'

I've never really been a fan of this song, I mean it is good, but not a fan. The song itself is pretty dark content-wise and the video brought that darkness out as well. The whole illuminati and Kanye West thing is whatever you want to believe, I myself don't want to take part in it, but you can let me know what you think. I do like Kanye West's music, especially his older stuff. The video love it or hate it it's interesting and open for interpretation. The only part I didn't like (not to be biased) was Nicki Minaj's part only because the rest of the song was dark and her part was just more hyped up and didn't flow with the rest of the song. Let me know what ya'll thought.

Kanye West 'Life of a Don' feat. Lil Wayne

I know this song has been out for like a month or so now, but I just started getting into it and I just loveee it. It's called 'Life of a Don' off of that G.O.O.D. A** Mixtape that came out a while ago, and it features Lil Wayne and both of them just make the song. I'm not a huge Lil Wayne fan (i think he's alright, his old stuff is WAYYY better than the stuff people be feening for nowadays) but he did his thing on the track (his lyrics are okay in relation to the song). The song just has this vibe that I can't really describe, but it's ridiculously good.

KiD CuDi feat. Kanye West 'Erase Me (Official Video)'

I've been waiting for this video for a while now only to find out it's been out for like a week now (lol), but no worries I just saw it today and I.Love.It. CuDi looks like Jimi Hendrix to me in the video and it's like 70s theme almost and Christopher Mintz-Plasse aka McLovin from Superbad is also in the video which makes it even better. Just an all around crazy cool video from CuDi.

Alors On Danse (Remix)

Soooo I've been on this song for a few days now, and each time I listen to it I just HAVE to play it like 10 more times. I posted it up on the other blog I write for TheChillinVillains.com and I thought I'd give ya'll the song too. It's a dance/techno-y vibe, but if you're open to different types of music then you'll appreciate this one. Stromae is (i think) French or atleast he does his music in French and the original song came out about a month ago, be sure to request it at any parties/clubs or whatever you might be at.
