Clare Maguire 'I Need A Dollar (Live Acoustic Cover)'

I've heard the beat for this song 'I Need A Dollar' which I thought before was just something that a couple of DJ's came up with for Yelawolf to put in work over on a freestyle for that track, which I thought he killed. However, I've been seeing a few of these 'I Need A Dollar' freestyles which I thought they were just sampling the beat Yelawolf used or it was a completely different song. I was wrong and there is an original song called 'I Need A Dollar' by Aloe Blacc which apparently is the theme song for the show "How to Make it in America" which stars KiD CuDi (and a show that I've been meaning to check out). The original is a heart felt song that talks about how we all are in search of that dollar, or the riches in life, and how we try so hard to achieve such financial success yet don't realize what it does to the world around us. This cover is done by Clare Maguire live at "The Sun Biz Session" who does an amazing cover of Aloe Blacc's song, and the guy on the guitar and the other guy beatboxing make the song even better.

KiD CuDi 'Marijuana (Remix/Cover)'

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE! I hope that everyone had a great New Years. Let me know what ya'll did in the comment section if you'd like to share. To celebrate the new year I thought I'd drop a song off of KiD CuDi's latest album, "Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager," which might I add is a must have for all CuDi fans. The song and mind you I don't do the drug he's singing about, but it still is an amazing, really mellow song. Boldly titled 'Marijuana' CuDi uses his creativity to not boast about his "mary jane" habbits, but to highlight his use to keep the good times coming. The album has many great songs for all different moods you might be in, but this song keeps coming back to me. The fact that it is four minutes and 20 seconds also adds to the amazingness of the song. However, instead of giving you guys the track thats been put out everywhere I decided to put up this sweet cover by a YouTuber by the name of "jaron21." I like his voice on the track and it's not as slow as the original but it still has the emotion the original track gives off.

The Hoodies 'All I Want For Christmas Is You (Cover)'

I heard this song about two years ago off of this band called The Hoodies' music pages, and I just loved the cover they did of Mariah Carey's hit song (one of her many hits) 'All I Want For Christmas Is You.' I think it's that the role is reversed in who's singing the song just makes me love it more, but they really did do an amazing cover of the song. Their voices, the instruments, the bells ringing, the harmony it's just a great song. If you loved Mariah's version of the song, then you will definitely love The Hoodies' version. I was trying to look them up and what not, but I guess apparently the band I knew as The Hoodies are now Joy Wave. I'm not sure what happened with the original band, but I wish them all the best and success with Joy Wave. If you were a fan of The Hoodies or never had a chance to listen to any of their tunes, then enjoy this cover of 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' by the fireplace and may you have a wonderful Christmas.

Robyn "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart (Cover)"

I've been looking for something fresh to put up here for you guys for quite sometime now (sorry for the lack of music ya'll) and I stumbled upon this gem. Robyn is a Swedish pop star, who kind of reminds me of a more laid back almost version of P!nk (maybe it's just the hair, but she does to me). I'm reading her bio right now and I can also tell ya'll that she gained fame in 1997 with her song "Show Me Love" and now has fame not only in Sweden, but all over the world. This song I'm posting is a cover she did live at iheartradio in late July of this year, and she absolutely put her heart and soul in "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart." I do like the original Alicia Keys version, but this one actually made me cry the first time hearing it. This is my first time hearing about Robyn and I just adore everything she did on this cover, she made it her own, and the background music (drums/piano) just gives the song this more personal (i guess thats the word I'm looking for) kind of feel, and allows you to really hear and feel Robyn as she sings. Great cover and you will definitely enjoy it as well.

VersaEmerge 'Find Your Love (Cover)'

I've been in LOVEEE with this band for quite some time now, but I hadn't checked them out in forever so I decided to see what was up with the band and I stumbled onto this jewell. I'm not a fan of the original verion/Drake, but this cover is unbelievably good, Sierra's voice is UH-MAZ-ING and Blake sounds soooo good on here. If you don't know/haven't heard of VersaEmerge, I suggest you do some research and get to know them.

'It's My Party (Cover)' by Amy Winehouse

OMG just saw this today, and I've been waiting longgg for Amy Winehouse to make that long needed comeback. She has such a soulful/jazzy kind of voice that's just amazing and you can listen to it all day. When she first came out on the music scene I was like "wow who is she and I need to hear more from her," it's just too bad the whole drug scandal stuff had to interfere with her career, but hearing this sounds like she's ready to bring the world her gift of music once again. If you never listened to Amy Winehouse I suggest you do that right now, her voice is incredible and something you don't hear too often. The song isn't original, but she makes it her own, it's a cover of Lesley Gore's 'It's My Party' which came out in the 1960s, and with this remake Amy just and I don't want to repeat, but she really does make it her own song.

I found this a while ago (before my harddrive failed) and I thought it was such an amazing cover besides the fact that Imani didn't know all the words, but besides that, her voice makes the cover all her own. The Noisettes

I've seen this cover a while back and had it bookmarked before my harddrive crashed, but it's a beautiful cover of The Killers' 'When You Were Young' by the Noisettes. Lead singer Shingai Shoniwa really turns this Killers song into a soulful ballad of her own. I like both versions of the song, but this one brings different and more heart warming emotions I think. Kudos to the Noisettes for this lovely cover on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge. Enjoy and be sure to check out more of The Noisettes' music.

Menyaaaa

Menya a super talented group consisting of members, Good Goose, Angie Ripe, and Coco Dame who all attend NYU together. I was introduced to them from another website about lets say a year ago(?) sure. They're mad cool peeps and uber (yea i said it) friendly. They're just like a laid back, and mad fun group who makes good music. Some of their music, 'Ripe,' 'Outside of You,' 'Diana' and the cover flip of Justin Bieber's 'Baby' so cleverly titled, 'Babies' are all different tastes of what you can get of Menya. They dropped a Mixtape entitled 'The Sleepover Series' which i put on the right sidebar (and if you click on the cover it sends you to a link where you can download it o_o<--i have NO idea what that face makes but i wanted to use it lol). They've also released two EPs "The Ol' Reach-Around" and "Puss Coital" which are both on iTunes (buy and SUPPORT!!!) And the video is a cover of the Supreme's 'You Can't Hurry Love'

P.S. I'm still waiting for ya'll to make a video for Ripe :D
