Area 'Welcome to Hell (feat. T.D.K.)'

This isn't a new track, but I've been bumping it more lately because it's just that amazing all around. The beat and the flows by Area and T.D.K. all match up and I am digging both of their verses as well. I think it was a great move to add that reversed part to end the song, it's a nice final touch to the song. I highly recommend checking out 'Welcome to Hell' by AreaBDK or Area if you're looking for a track to get into his music. I think compared to his 2nd official mixtape (I'm pretty sure it was), "2 Fingers" has a much better production than "The Debut" and you can see the change in lyrical content from both mixtapes. It's interesting to see Area's progress in the music game, you can catch him performing from time to time out here in New England. He's had a pretty recent performance at Toad's Place in CT, who knows, maybe Area will be a name you here more and more in the music game. Here's another prep school rapper (who I also know personally) trying to grind out here. Take a listen to 'Welcome to Hell' and download that "2 Fingers" mixtape and be on the lookout to some brand new music from Area I believe later this month.

Johny Hawkins "OG (Mixtape Download)"

This is a submission by an Atlanta mc by the name of Johny Hawkins with his 3rd mixtape entitled "OG." I don't know much about Johny Hawkins, but I am feeling this tape so far. I'm still in the midst of listening to the full tape, but I am definitely feeling the samples used in here from classics like Master P, Pimp C (R.I.P.), Three 6 Mafia and Bun B. I wish I had more of a bio to post about Hawkins, but right now just know that this tape has a great feel to it with an 80s/90s kind of vibe to it. Download and check the kid Johny Hawkins out, I'm sure you will dig him like I do.

Hardo & Deezlee "Fame or Feds (Rap or Bricks)"

I was recently put onto the guy Hardo a few weeks back after watching his 'Cut Throat' music video where he was spitting his verses in a room full of his crip representatives and I just had to download his mixtape "Fame or Feds (Rap or Bricks)" when it came out. I don't know the exact like genre of rap I would call his music, but I'm really digging it. I heard (through the wire), that Hardo is/was (not really sure) locked up which is a shame because he and Deezlee came hard on this tape. I'd have to say that currently my favorite track off of this is 'Follow' me which also features Slave. I think I have a love of songs that rappers put out that tell you to follow them on twitter. I don't know what it is. Other than that just listen and download "Fame or Feds (Rap or Bricks)" if you living that trappin lifestyle then you should be able to relate, if not it doesn't hurt to perpetrate that lifestyle (as everyone else in the world is doing).

Robb Bank$ "Calendars (Mixtape)"

I've been listening to Robb Bank$ for a minute now, and I know little about him, but what I do know is that he makes some fresh music. I first got hip to him from his 'Counting' music video which has some great visuals along with a just rock/rap beat type of instrumental going on that you just can't not love. Bank$ born in New York (I forget where exactly), but raised in Florida describes his music as things he's witnessed day to day growing up, and just his experiences. With every track off of his solo debut, "Calendars" you'll get something different atop some incredible beats. I'm definitely impressed by his sound and I would love to meet him if I ever got the chance to, and I'm interested in listening to his group stuff as the other half of Tuesday Thru Sunday with Matt Meyer Lansky. So far my favorite track off of the "Calendars" mixtape would have to be 'Fine/The Come Down pt. 2' there's just something about Bank$' flow and the beat that makes this song irresistible.

Asher Roth 'Hard Times (feat. Kids These Days & Casey Veggies)'

I've been gone for way too long, my first post of 2012 coming in February. I'm sorry ya'll, I promise I will make more of an effort to blog with this much more. I'm thinking about having my second (well technically 3rd/4th) twitter account primarily for tweeting posts and getting the latest updates on here and a way for me to connect with artists who submit their music to me or something. However, for my first post of the new year, it's a song I've recently fallen in love with by none other than Asher Roth. I have to admit I've slept on Pabst & Jazz for quite some time, and have recently downloaded it and the song 'Hard Times' really stands out to me. It just had this old school kind of vibe, with a catchy chorus and Roth, Casey Veggies and Kids These Days completely obliterate the track. Shoutouts to Blended Babies for producing this amazing song. It's more of a laid back kind of song where you just listen to what each artist is saying and you're just blown away by it. I love it and I think you all should as well.

Boogie KaZamm "Indifferent" Mixtape

Shoutouts to my guy Boogie and his production game, and the up coming/recently released (if you're on the East Coast it just dropped and if you're on the west side like myself you'll be getting it early. If you don't know, Boogie is a producer (17 at that) out of the mid-West and looking to expand his already growing fan base with his dope beats for local and up and coming artists from his area. The mixtape does feature the track I put up a few months back called 'Just A Kid' (formally called 'FREE-STILE' on the mixtape) by EJAAZ and other songs by a few other artists like Breeze, HowFly, Jayy Starr & Gabrielle Wilkerson and a couple others featured on some tracks. I'm currently listening to this 10-track mixtape so I can't tell you my personal faves, but take some time to download and check it out for yourself. If you're an up and coming artist and would like to have a Boogie beat, then hit him up.

A$AP Rocky "LiveLoveA$ap (Mixtape)"

So I've heard about Harlem's own, A$AP Rocky, a minute back, but I wasn't proactive to put him on here before he really started to blow up. He recently signed a 3 million dollar deal to Polo Grounds (don't know much about the record label), and has been heating up the internet lately with a nice fanbase one that includes myself. I may not know much about the rap game and all its details, but I don't think we've really heard many rappers representing Harlem since the Diplomats were heavy on the scene. A$AP looks to blend that Southern (Texas mainly) trill lifestyle and his Harlem world to create a sound of music that is unique and different than other rappers out there. He recently dropped his "LiveLoveA$ap" mixtape which is definitely a banger, and if this is your first interaction with A$ap then please listen to 'Purple Swag' just a little something to check out and then listen to his other tracks. One of my new favorites is 'Bass' which I'll leave here for ya'll to listen and download. Recognize his name, A$AP.

Cam Meekins "Blazed & Confused (Mixtape)"

Cam Meekins, if you've never heard of him take a second while I put you onto him, he's a rapper out of the Massachusetts area, so shoutouts to the 413 and other area codes in Mass (lol). I've heard a couple of his freestyles and songs from Cam on his YouTube and I was impressed with his style and after hearing this 6 track mixtape entitled "Blazed & Confused" I'm thoroughly delighted by it. I wasn't totally sure what to expect, but Cam really did put his all into this tape and I hope you all are able to see the hard work that he's putting in as he gets deeper into the rap game. My favorite song off of "Blazed & Confused" would have to be 'Purple' at the moment. The song feels so real and he's really telling a story through his rhymes on this song and it's what really attracts me to the song. STOP SLEEPING ON CAM MEEKINS.

Paperface 'She's Like A Star (feat. Prep Star) (Remix)'

Paperface, out of the New Jersey area, and he brings an original style to the music game, not just musically, but with his style. The name "Paperface" is to be taken literally for he wears a paperbag over his face as a way to hid his true identity. He tries to come up with different answers to the ever so popular question as to "Why?" and I think I may have one take on this. I'm only speculating, but maybe it's to keep attention to his music and what he has to offer, rather than focusing on his outer appearance and judging him before taking a second to see what he has to offer. I mean that's just me but let's get back to the music. The song 'She's Like A Star' which features Prep Star, is a remix of Taio Cruz's original song by the same name, and Paperface puts his spin on the song and adds a little comedy as well with the video. The song is about calling that special someone your "star" the one who's above everything to you, but Paperface (in the video) takes it one further and tells two girls that they are his star which leads to an argument between the two young ladies at the end. An overall great video from and the verses are well written and I can't wait to check out more music from Paperface in the future. If you're looking to check Paperface out in concert he's been doing shows in the New York/New Jersey and Philadelphia are so be on the look out.

Theo Martins 'Turn It Up (Feat. Plan B)'

Theo Martins, musician out of Rhode Island, and artist behind the track 'Lo-Fi Love' which I featured on here a while back has just released a new album for his fans called "Sincerely Yours, The Dance Floor." The album mixes a bunch of different genres like Hip Hop, some Pop, Electro, amongst others to create something original and Theo Martins unique. The first track off of the album is called 'Turn It Up' which features British musician Plan B on the track. 'Turn It Up' has a mix of different sounds blended together to create this dance inspired, techno influenced song that will definitely have you going crazy on the dance floor. I'm definitely diggin the intro which starts off slow and acapella, then the different instruments coming in really add to the track. Theo Martins always brings something different and unique to his music and 'Turn It Up' is a great intro song to an even more amazing album.

Sweezer B. 'IDGAF! (Prod. Beaker)'

Just saw this track and I had to see what it was about. I've never heard of the guy Sweezer B beforehand but what I can tell you about this song is that it's fresh. So I went and looked him up and I see he does have a nice fan base, and already dropped a tape called "The Ugly Troof" and one called "24 Hours Till Reality" which I'll download and check out and possibly post it up with a review of it for ya'll to read and download. I looked up some info on Sweezer B and he's a rapper out of the Minneapolis, Minnesota area (shoutouts to the Mid West), and is actually only a couple year older than me. He's been doing his thing on the mic at least since he was 14 years old which has given him plenty of time to work on his skills and create something the people will be craving for. The song 'IDGAF!' (you can guess what it stands for), has a hot beat and Sweezer drops some nice punchlines to create an amazing sounding track produced by Beaker. I'm deff gonna check out some more songs by him and I hope you guys do the same.

The Cool Kids 'Free Throws (Music Video)'

The dope fellas Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish aka The Cool Kids have finally dropped the long awaited music video for their song 'Free Throws' which was off of their "Merry Christmas" Mixtape that came out over a year ago or so. They did have a video where they were in the studio with legendary producer and DJ Don Cannon, recording the song, but there is now an official video for the song. The song is another one of those songs like 'Big Talk' or 'Pennies' that relates to basketball in some way, but the way they approach making a song, no matter the topic, is what really grabs me. They can rap pretty much about anything and make it hot because they always have a dope beat behind them, and they don't need to follow conventional paths on rapping about money, cars, women and everything else that has been filled in these mainstream lyrics nowadayz. The music video is just them straight up rapping, but shots of them around town (with Mikey rocking a Lakers beanie? oh geez), it kind of reminds me of a little home video type of thing with the guys in the snow and what have you. I feel like spending a day with these guys would be jam packed with fun, sneakers, and dropping dope rhymes.

*I did the edit on this picture so if you're gonna take it please credit the source, gracias*

Pac Div "Mania! (Mixtape)"

OMG, Hide your kids, and hide your wife, the Pac Div "Mania!" mixtape is here. I've been waiting for this to drop ever since they released 'Your F****** Song' and said that it would be apart of their upcoming mixtape. It's been kind of a cat and mouse game with the release, but I'm just relived it's here now. I knew they would drop it when I wasn't home, and rest assured it happened (lol). The mixtape is hosted by the legendary DJ/Producer Don Cannon who did great work on Asher Roth's "The Greenhouse Effect" (which is an all around dope mixtape might I add). I'm currently in the process of downloading the mixtape so I can only tell you all about the tracks I've heard so far which is 'Your F****** Song,' 'Anti-Freeze,' and 'Take Me High' which are all great singles in their own right. Each show off the many sides of the fellas of Pac Div and I'm sure that the rest of the songs on here continue to display their lyrical abilities. The mixtape includes features from Sir Michael Rocks (of The Cool Kids), Ty$, BJ The Chicago Kid, and Casey Veggies. I hope you all enjoy.

J.Vill "40's & High Class Shorties (Mixtape)"

Chillin Villain's Premiere Artist J.Vill has just released his long awaited sophomore mixtape entitled "40's & High Class Shorties" for all you J.Vill fans desperately awaiting for new music, and those college kids needs new music for those on campus rage fests you throw every weekend. The tracks on this mixtape are meant to be played LOUD and partied even harder to, or maybe just burn this onto a CD and pop it into your car and just let the music take a hold of the car (lol no don't that's really dangerous lol). There are a lot of mixes on here that J.Vill takes his creative mind and just releases some dope rhymes onto these even crazier instrumentals. I've already put you guys onto a couple of J.Vill's songs and I HIGHLY recommend that you continue to check him out, and download this mixtape and play it non stop until he drops a CD or another mixtape to keep you all busy. I highly suggest you guys download 'Show Me Love (Afrojack)' because that one's like my new favorite song. Oh and tell your friends about him put on a song and watch them get hooked. Oh yea and Orange County STAND UP!

Carlos St. John "12 Flights Up, A Short Story- Good Morning, Forever (Video #4)

It's been a week, and everyone's favorite day has arrived again: Carlos St. John Day. I've been anxiously waiting for this weeks installment of the video and was granted ability to peak at the video earlier today before it was dropped anywhere else, so thank you to Taylor and Carlos for that wonderful opportunity. See ya'll, it pays to be a Stock Holder. The video for this week uses the song, 'Good Morning, Forever' which honestly is a song I didn't like at first, but after playing it countless times in a row I feel like needs to be my alarm because it's such a great song to wake up to/listen to in the morning. The video picks up where the last one ended, and it's the day after the argument between Carlos and his girl. He's dressed (looking sharp as usual) and she's lying in bed and there is flashbacks of their night (a little explicit for you younger readers), and Carlos' face just looks like he's up to something which I'm guessing we'll find out in the next video. If you like the song then I HIGHLY suggest you download his mixtape "In Association" and become a Stock Holder today. They don't call him Brooklyn's James Bond for nothing.

Carlos St. John "12 Flights Up, A Short Story- Ticker Tape Parade (Video #3)"

One word: Boss. Carlos St. John is just an all around boss. The way he cut that cigar, the way he lit that match, just everything about him is boss. The third installment of his series, "12 Flights Up, A Short Story" uses the song 'Ticker Tape Parade,' which is one of my personal faves by him, as the background music in this video. It continues on with Carlos and his girl riding in the car arguing, and she's getting upset and crying, while he's sitting there with a smirk on his face. He's clearly up to something, and the song goes perfectly with the video because as they get that shot with him alone in the city, the lines go, "See none of that don't matter, cause I'm a diamond baby." Every video makes me just wanna meet Carlos St. John or even just go to a concert of his and enjoy that St. John Experience live.

L.E.P. Bogus Boys & The Cool Kids 'Countin' My Money (Music Video)'

I've been searching a little for some new Cool Kids stuff and I have been able to feed my Cool Kids hunger with this new video of L.E.P. Bogus Boys featuring the Cool Kids on a track called 'Countin' My Money.' I haven't heard of the Bogus Boys before, but they have that kind of old school kind of vibe to their raps similar to the Cool Kids but a little bit more hyped when they rhyme. The song displays the talents of Mikey & Chuck of the Cool Kids and the guys over at L.E.P. with some hot bars, and lines you'll deff wanna start using on a day to day basis. I'm actually surprised I don't see any Chicago Bulls gear on Chuck Inglish or Sir Michael Rocks in this video, Chuck is actually sporting a Pistons jacket in this one and Mikey has on a Dodgers fitted, but I mean after seeing the 'Big Talk' video I guess I just expect them to have on Bulls gear all the time. This song is off of L.E.P.'s "Don't Feed The Killaz Vol. 3" so go on a cop that if you like what you hear on this.

Carlos St. John "12 Flights Up, A Short Story (Video #1)"

Ahhh yes, Carlos St. John Day is back! The new installment to the series is not just music, but a combination of music, and a personal look into the life of the man behind the "In Association" mixtape. The first video in the series features the song 'Lights in the Air' by Mr. St. John and Brook Yung. It's a little teaser for you Stockholders of what can be expected, and after watching this I can't wait to see where Carlos and his people go with it. By the looks of this first video it looks like it will be about a love in Carlos' life that possibly has left him just by looking at the setting of the video and the roses and drinks around the table. It seems like it will be touching, maybe show a different side of Carlos St. John through this series? We'll have to wait and see until next Tuesday. Get prepared for the next episode by listening and downloading the "In Association" Mixtape, brushing up on your facts/info of Carlos by checking out his website.

Carlos St. John "In Association - A Short Story"

I feel so empty not being able to post a new Carlos St. John track every Tuesday ever since his "In Association" mixtape dropped on Christmas (read review here). However, have no fear because the man behind the amazing music is still here on his grind and has new stuff for his Stock Holders. With all the spotlight Carlos has been receiving for his mixtape, he will put out a multi-part series that will follow him around, and the first episode will drop tomorrow, January 20th. This series is entitled, "In Association - 12 Flights Up, A Short Story." I am definitely looking forward to this miniseries, to be able to understand the creative mind of Mr. St. John and a little bit more into his personality. I hope you all will be able to tune in and get to know the guy just a tad bit more, maybe even become a Stock Holder, who knows.

Mike Jaggerr "The Eleventh Hour (Mixtape)" Hosted By DJ Wonder

On this lucky(?) day January 11th, 2011 or 1/11/11, up and comer Mike Jaggerr has dropped his highly anticipated mixtape, "The Eleventh Hour" hosted by DJ Wonder. After listening to his song 'Away' (Track 4) I have high hopes for Mr. Jaggerr and I can't wait to hear some more of his music to finally get a more well rounded view of what he can do musically. I've heard the song 'Cruise Control' featuring Big KRIT a few days ago, and I like it, but it hasn't won me completely over yet. I'm getting ready to download the mixtape and I hope you all do, and let me know what you all think of it! Here's a sample of one of the songs on the mixtape called 'Shades.'
