SourSoul "Bad Milk"

I know I've been slipping when it comes to posting music lately, and it's not that I don't have anything to post, I'm just too lazy to sign on and do it. Here's some goodies to hold ya'll over for the time being, it's a collection of instrumentals put together by "SourSoul." I don't know much about SourSoul, but what I do know is is that he makes some pretty incredible stuff. The beats are laid pack, and just extremely calm to listen to, and I deff am loving this album. If anyone is looking for some relaxing and amazing instrumentals to listen to, then look no further than SourSoul's "Bad Milk." I think personally my favorite one is 'Pancakes,' but then again 'After Dark' is just one of those songs you just cruise around in your car with the top down and just vibe around town with that song blasting.

Happy Birthday: J-Dilla "Still Shining (Documentary)"

For those of you that don't know, but today Febuary 7th, is the birthday of the late great hip hop genius James Dewitt Yancey also known as J-Dilla and one half of the group Jaylib. He would have been 37 today and even though he's gone his music still plays a great role in music today and his samples are often reused by many artists. I, myself was first introduced to J-Dilla through Jaylib and their song 'The Red' which I got off of the "Tony Hawk's Project 8" soundtrack, and later went out and bought their album, "Champion Sound" which is full of dope tracks, and you can tell Madlib and J-Dilla had fun on the collaboration through their little skits, and advertisements at the end of some songs. I hope those of you who know who J-Dilla is will continue to support his music, and for those of you that are unaware of J-Dilla and his musical talents will go out and take a listen to some of the stuff he's put together. For everyone, here's the documentary that was released today in honor of his birthday. It was created around the time of Dilla's funeral in 2006, and was finished some time after in the same year. I hope you all enjoy "Still Shining."

Atmosphere 'Minnesota Nice' feat. Prof, Felipe Cuauhtli & Gene Poole

This song has punchlines for days, on top of a beat that's reminiscent of a Dr. Dre (maybe?) song, I got it, it kind of sounds like Tupac's 'California Love' song (doesn't it?). Well besides that, the song is ill, and another one of those cruising songs that you turn all the way up, nod your head and just let the music take you there. Atmosphere teams up with Prof, Felipe Cuauhtli and Gene Poole to create such an amazing track with 'Minnesota Nice.' The song is kind of a homage to their hometown (maybe? lol), but whether or not it is the song has lines in it that will stick with you for days, and have you repeating them to your friends. Some of the stuff in here is a little innapropriate, but hey what hip hop/rap song isn't nowadays? "You may be bad but I'm worse (I'm so worse)/They call me Minnesota Nice"

Pac Div 'Anti Freeze (Clean)'

So the fellas over at Pac Div have dropped another dope track for their fans in anticipation for their new mixtape "Maniac!" The song is called, 'Anti Freeze' and it's almost an attack on mainstream rappers that have no substance in their lyrics. Pac Div pretty much criticizes some of those who pretend to be something their not, and put out bad music which we (the consumers) buy up. Pac Div continues to bring the heat, and keep it real in their music which is why I love these guys. "Tired of all you posers, tired of all you weirdos," just a little something of what the guys bring to the track. It differs from their other recently dropped track, 'Your F****** Song,' but it does NOT lack in the rap or beat department. I can't wait to hear the rest of the tracks off of their "Maniac!" mixtape when it drops, and their upcoming album which I hear they are/have been working on to release soon.

Rah Digga 'Straight Spittin 4.5' Produced by Marco Polo

Oh yes, Digga Dig is back with a crazy hot track for her fans. She just goin off and "straight spittin'" for a cool minute and 50 seconds just dropping line after line. If you missed that real lyricism in the game, no need to wait because Rah Digga is back to fill your appetite. I've been a fan of Rah Digga since she came out with that 'Party and Bull****' song she dropped a while back and the remix to that with Missy Elliot and Eve and Busta Rhymes. That was a time when rap wasn't just about sex, drugs and money but just fun rap (I guess thats what I mean), and people actually cared about their bars and not just making a quick buck off of their music. Apparently this track is number 4.5 out of a 5 track series she's droppin/has dropped. I'll deff look out for previous entries and when I hear track 5 I'll deffinitely put it out for ya'll to bump. This is a track that you will HAVE to nod your head to while you listen to it. If you've never been a fan of Rah Digga, well listen to this and let's see if you have a change of opinion afterwards.

Tigerstyle by Redman

Yea 1 something of the Wu-Tang clan, half of Method Man and Redman. Redman is coming back to the music game and coming back strong. I already posted that '4 Minutes to Lockdown' joint earlier and here we go again with another banger. The song's called 'Tigerstyle' and it brings back those old school vibes, the lines are fire and it's just an all around banger. So get your music game up and make SURE you have this song on your iTunes, CD player, A-Trak whatever you jam with.

Cannibal Ox

I'm not even gonna write about them, I'm just gonna post the lyrics and YOU tell me whats real hip hop. *correction* so i did have the full lyrics up but that just made the page uber long so I just put a couple lines and I'll just link ya'll to the full lyrics. Lo Siento.

[ Vordual Megala ]
Life's ill, some-time's life might kill
Vordul Mega, five digits grab mic's mic strike type ill
Is life real? Yo akhi builds
When life feels, like earth don't spin
Whirlwinds mic blend
Lifes at a stand-still, dangerous cuz man kills
And still, cats visualize life ghetto like
Born mind, sometime these cats see life
Street life incomplete light and be like
I'm a live life after this
One crime, one line from the Mega-la
Blow spine, everyone
Knows the city's ill, cats kill
Still black man holds nine
Gotta chill star
C-A.L.L.A.H
Be the light of Shamar
Work hard Shamar C-Cipher-A.L.L.A.H
Adapt bars snatch stars
and detach large, channels
But our bar's handle might break mic's
Vordul Megala the cannibal ate mic's
Strive live live fuck five I want a hundred and eight mic's

Typical Cats

Typical Cats, the first time I heard them was while playing Tony Hawk's Project 8 on my PSP lolz and I just fell in love with the song. Like I customized the playlist to take off all the songs I didn't want to hear and you already know that 'Any Day' made the cut. The lyrics are just so real with a simple yet powerful chorus. It's more of a story being told which really attracts me to the song, hip hop at its finest right here. What really shocked me about the group was the diversity amongst the artist who make up Typical Cats. Each guy has a flow thats unmatchable when they get on the mic. I don't know why I hadn't shared this song earlier, but here is Typical Cats with 'Any Day.'

Method Man, Redman, Ghostface and Raekwon on the SAME TRACK???

This isn't a new song, it's back from 2009, but I only saw two youtube videos with the song so not too many people know about it, but the song is called '4 Minutes to Lockdown' by Method Man & Redman featuring Ghostface and Raekwon. No idea if this was released on an album or not, but this song SCREAMS REAL HIP-HOP, not this mainstream stuff you hear on the radio. The beat is crazy hot, and the verses just make the song even more (if that made sense? lol). This is the Hip Hop i wanna hear. Listen and Love it.
